What is ‘UXP’?
UXP stands for User Experience Platform. Also known as an app, it refers to the technologies that connect a user to a programme or application. In the world of online casinos and virtual casino games, it will relate to the interfaces and general experiences that a player goes through when playing anything from virtual reality blackjack from the comfort of their armchair to sitting at a computerised poker unit in a land-based casino.
UXPs are comprised of various technological aspects. These can include mobile and social tools, analytics, portals, CMS (content management systems), mashup and RIA (rich internet application) tools. Fusing all these things together is no easy feat and can only be successfully pulled off by someone who truly knows their computer skills.
For online casinos and even in-house slot machines, UXPs are what make the games and general interface usable. A poor UXP will likely lead to players instantly dropping the game at hand and moving on to something else. In such a competitive and vast market, there is no room for a sub-standard UXP. Websites or consoles that house such flawed platforms will either need to up their game immediately or face financial consequences. No house or online player will want to deal with such shoddiness.
A well-done UXP will not only look good but will have a flow to it. Transitioning from one screen to the next and making buttons carry out their proper function each and every time isn’t a simple task like some people may think. Simply clicking or tapping (if using a touchscreen) involves many complex processes.
It doesn’t just stop at the finished product either. Technology is always on the move and can be endlessly tweaked and improved upon. Any big house or site will want, and in some cases contribute to, the latest advancements.
