Dragon 7

What is ‘Dragon 7’?

The term Dragon 7 refers to an extra option included within Baccarat, which is a card game played in many casinos and online casinos. Baccarat is a game in which cards are compared to see who has the highest hand, and the final result of any coup can be in favour of the player, the banker, or a tie.

‘Dragon 7’ is an option that, if chosen, would pay 40 to 1 if the outcome were successful for the bettor.

‘Dragon 7’ Explained

‘Dragon 7’ is a phrase commonly used in conjunction with Baccarat, a game in which hands of cards are compared among the players and the banker and whose outcome depends on who holds the highest hand. Each card is valued based on a point system: all cards between two and nine (inclusive) are worth their actual number; aces are worth one point each; and picture cards are valueless and are worth no points.

The highest that a hand can be valued is nine; for cards that add up to more than 10, the rightmost number is the one that is counted as the hand’s total value. So, for example, if the player holds a five and a seven, the combined total would be 2 because that digit is the rightmost number in the figure 12.

When the term ‘Dragon 7’ is used while playing Baccarat, it refers to a system of betting in which the payout would be 40 to 1. This is most common in the ‘EZ Baccarat’ variant of the game, in which even money would be paid if the banker wins. Another option is ‘Panda 8’, which is similar in principal but which would only pay 25 to 1.

In ‘Dragon 7’, a wager would be staked on the banker to end with a hand of three cards worth seven points in total. As mentioned above, if the outcome is successful, it would pay 40 to 1, meaning that the house edge would be left at roughly 7.61%. This is around 3% less generous than the ‘Panda 8’ house edge.
