- World first presented at ENADA exhibition in Rimini, Italy
- VR casino market expected to boom over next four years
- Users can enjoy an immersive casino experience
Medialive, a software provider which specializes in creating casino games featuring live dealers, has unveiled what it says is the world’s first ever virtual reality live roulette game at an exhibition in Italy.
A VR casino game?
The game, in which users play this much-loved casino game by wearing a virtual reality visor, was revealed at the recent ENADA exhibition, between March 15-17.
According to Medialivecasino, players will face the roulette table and will be able to move within the realm of the game, making it feel more realistic.
Virtual Reality is predicted to be the next big trend in online gambling, with revenue from the technology set to grow from a current $58 million per year to over $500 million by 2021 – an increase of 800%!
Angelo De Gobbi, head of sales and marketing at Medialivecasino, revealed that the technology is targeted at a younger audience: “Our aim is to find innovative solutions to conquer a new target of players and thanks to virtual reality we can finally attract millennials who until now were not very interested in live games.”
“This solution also allows you to retain customers by offering them a VIP gift box already configured to be able to enjoy the new gaming experience.”
Is the title ‘VR’ misleading?
De Gobbi went on to explain that: “In the case of live games, rather than virtual reality, it would be correct to speak of augmented reality. There is nothing virtual [about it], throughout the game the experience is based on real elements.”
The exhibition, held in the Adriatic coastal city of Rimini, allowed visitors to sample this new gaming solution via a Medialive visor at the Gamenet stand.
