- Incident occurred at The Cromwell Hotel hours after the Mayweather versus McGregor fight
- Partygoers see leaving venue with their hands up
Las Vegas police have raided a top Las Vegas casino following reports of an ‘active shooter’ in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The dramatic events of the raid, which took place at 1:30 on Sunday morning just hours after the Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor fight, were captured on video, which shows the moment when pandemonium ensued inside the Cromwell Casino following reports of gun shots.
Partygoers who had come to Vegas to watch the fight were forced to scramble for cover under chairs and behind tables as chaos spread through the Cromwell’s casino floor.
In response, scores of police officers with drawn guns arrived at the hotel, and hotel patrons were forced to leave the building as the incident unfolded.
The below video footage, from the Mail Online, appears to show people cowering on the floor before they are ordered to evacuate the building by hotel security and armed police.
Partygoers at Drai’s BeachClub and Nighclub, which occupies the top storey of the building, were also evacuated and patrons can be seen leaving the premises with their hands in the air.
The evacuation occurred shortly before rapper Chris Brown had been scheduled to perform at the Sin City venue.
However, despite the initial panic, it later transpired that no shots had been fired. According to reports from the scene, the loud noises had resulted from a brawl in the vicinity of the casino entrance, which had toppled a number of ornamental statues.
Footage in the aftermath of the incident show a man being arrested near the venue and led away in handcuffs, although it is not clear yet how he was involved in the situation.
