Sex and Sin City: Sarah Jessica Parker opens boutique at Vegas’ Bellagio

  • Sex in the City actress delighted to open Las Vegas boutique
  • Parker’s fashion brand already at MGM National Harbour

With its eight-and-a-half acre lake and those iconic fountains, the AAA Five Diamond Bellagio Resort and Casino is a Las Vegas icon.

So it is understandable that Sex In The City star turned fashion designer Sarah Jessica Parker aimed to set up shop there. Literally.

Providing yet another place to turn your winnings into booty, Parker’s fashion brand SJP, had its first stand alone shop in the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, USA.

Now they are opening site number two in the Bellagio, where the new boutique will be selling the SJP LBD (Little Black Dress) in the retail section of the resort and extending the SJP brand’s relationship with the MGM group.

“We’re thrilled to be in Las Vegas,” Parker said.

“I don’t think we ever imagined this early on in our relatively new business we would have, not only a first, but a second home with the MGM family. And it’s particularly exciting to be at Bellagio […] This idea of a party for your foot really makes sense in Vegas.”

The Vegas Experience

The hotel & resort idea, which turned so many casinos into theme parks and malls as well as temples of hazard, has done a lot to expand Vegas into a family destination.

Now you can spend a few hours playing craps and – providing you find your way there between 10am-10pm in a world without clocks – spend a few more hours indulging yourself in high fashion as well as some high rolling.

Not that Parker’s line falls into the latter category. The SJP collection is designed to showcase “the brand’s theme of colors acting as neutrals, and encourages women to take risks and break away from fashion rules they imagine.”

Depending on how flush you’re feeling after your time at the tables, the shop will sell you anything from accessories to outfits in prices ranging from thirty bucks to $695.00 plus tax.

And if SJP is not to your taste the whole thing is nestled amongst shops for Gucci, Armani, Omega, et al. Not to mention the art galleries and Cirque du Soleil.

To celebrate the new arrangement SJP has even put out a new line: Bellagio Blue.
