The President of Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) Edward Farrell said that his casino group had recruited W.A. Richardson Builders LLC (WARB) to run the construction. Speaking about the announcement, Farrell said the decision to tap WARB was based on their track record and the experience of their principal, Bill Richardson: “Bill Richardson has tackled complex, multi-billion-dollar projects in Las Vegas on time and on budget.

“We are confident that he and his team have the know-how to ensure that Resorts World Las Vegas will be constructed to the highest standards with maximum flexibility for future growth.”

General contractor

WARB has previously worked as the general contractor for a number of Las Vegas construction projects, including the Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Linq and the Cromwell, and have also carried out renovations on other properties along the Strip.

According to reports, WARB will be providing pre-construction services, which will include working on infrastructure and utility, as well as completing the site’s primary parking structure, essential preliminary steel and foundation work. WARB will also oversee remediation at the site to get it ready for the start of construction.

In responding to the news, Richardson said that the recruitment of WARB was a testament to the company’s considerable experience in creating large resorts on time and on budget.

Genting group has also handed out contracts worth over $400 million for a range of services including orders for concrete and steel and essential tower crane equipment. Clark County Building Department has authorised a number of permits for the project.

RWLV is set to become the first ground-up resort constructed on the Strip since the financial crash of 2008. Building work on the 87-acre former site of the Boyd Gaming Echelon facility is set to be complete in 2020, and RWLV has been envisaged as an Asian-themed resort that Genting hopes will draw international tourists from that lucrative part of the world.

Although Genting is perhaps most famous for its land-based casinos, it does also offer an online casino too, even pioneering live streaming casino games direct to its customer’s mobile phones.
