Queens Park Rangers have become the latest football club to announce a new shirt sponsorship deal with an online casino, after agreeing terms with Royal Panda.
The three-year deal will see the Royal Panda logo showcased on the front of Rangers’ home, away and third strips, from the start of the 2017/18 season.
The announcement comes just hours the FA, English Football’s governing body, announced it was pulling the plug on a key sponsorship deal with Ladbrokes Casino.
Royal Panda Casino is one of the quirkiest online casino around, which is powered by some of the biggest developers in the industry including Microgaming and NetEnt.
“A market-leader in the online casino sphere, Royal Panda are joining us at a hugely exciting time, having recently received their Sports Book license, which will launch in the coming months.

A growing trend
Last season’s Premier League campaign saw more teams sponsored by casino companies than ever before and with Brentford FC recently agreeing a deal with LeoVegas Casino and now Rangers putting pen to paper with Royal Panda, it is clear that casinos aren’t just interesting in English football’s top tier but that the Sky Bet Championship is equally as attractive and often offers better value for money.
With just over five weeks to go until the English 2017/18 football season kicks-off and plenty of clubs yet to reveal their commercial partners for the upcoming season, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more deals confirmed with online casinos.
Not all the online casinos brand that sign these deals will be familiar to punters, in fact almost a third of all shirt sponsorship deals from the 2016/17 season were signed with Asian casinos, looking to grow their reputation and player base in the UK.
