The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that the visit was planned for Thursday March 30th, but no official confirmation was given.

The proposed meeting comes at a time when some have expressed concern at a rumours surrounding a proposed casino deal between Ruffin and the Trump Organization.

Trump and Ruffin have been friends since the early 2000s, and close friends say that it was Ruffin who encouraged Trump to build the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas which the 82-year-old also partially owns.

Donald Trump was Ruffin’s best man at his wedding in 2008 and Ruffin worked on the finance committee that planned the inauguration of Trump in January.

The Casino Deal

Ruffin’s proposed visit to the White House comes amid some controversy surrounding an alleged new casino deal. Ruffin owns four acres of land beside Trump’s Las Vegas hotel which he has reported to have expressed an interest in developing alongside the Trump Organization.

The deal is being discussed with Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Junior, who are running the Trump Organization while their father is president. They are said to be enthusiastic about progressing with the plans.

This is causing concern because Trump has said in the past he would not do any new deals while he was president, although this was later clarified to only exclude international deals. Concerns are also being expressed on the basis of conflict of interest.

Eric Trump has said that any deal with Ruffin to build the casino would have nothing to do with the Trump administration. In addition, neither Trump or the Trump Organization would be breaking any laws by doing a deal to build the casino.
