Popstar Adele is reportedly close to signing a residency deal at one of Las Vegas’ biggest casinos, worth a cool $500,000 (£400,000) per night.
A ‘bidding war’ has apparently broken out along Vegas’ famous strip, as some of the world’s biggest and best known casinos dip into their pockets in an attempt to lure the UK-born star.
And the prize on offer? As well as the reported $500,000-a-night, it seems that the city’s casino bosses are willing to offer accommodation in a super-luxurious penthouse suite as a bargaining tool.
“It’s all-out war in Las Vegas for Adele’s signature,” the newspaper was told by an unnamed source. “In a city that prides itself on high stakes gambling, three major casinos are rolling the dice to persuade Adele to perform at their resorts.”
In a city where winning is everything, the fight has been a fierce one. Nothing is confirmed as yet, but it’s said that MGM Resorts has been particularly aggressive in its attempts to lure the star to play its new 20,000 capacity grand T-Mobile Arena.
It remains to be seen whether Adele is tempted. At the end of last year the star told fans she was taking a break to focus on her family. But with that kind of offer on the table, it could be hard to turn down.
“Even though Adele has made over $125 million from her tour, this monetary deal could tempt her,” said the source.
