The National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) show runs from April 11-13 and with IGT’s tagline being ‘Innovation at Play’. Attendees can expect a heavy emphasis on new games, technology and experiences across a diverse array of platforms.
Exciting new technologies
Those at the event will able to trial some of the most pioneering technologies which will emerge onto the market in the coming weeks and months. Even if you’re not lucky enough attend NIGA in the flesh, here’s a sneak peek of what’s in the pipeline.
4D multi-sensory experience
IGT is hoping to wow with CrystalCurve TRUE 4D cabinet, offering all the magic of 3D without the nuisance of glasses – plus an added fourth dimension for good measure. Thanks to the latest new-fangled ‘haptic’ technology, players are able to grasp and manipulate 3D objects in mid-air.

Meanwhile Cardless Connect is an extension that can be embedded into the app of an online casino and allows users to easily transfers funds from their existing accounts, thus dispensing with the necessity for physical tickets, vouchers and loyalty clubcards.
PlaySpot is an award-winning app allows players to join in a variety of different games while onsite at a land-based casino. For example, they can participate in live table betting on baccarat, all at the touch of a button.
A whole host of new games
In addition to the dazzling array of new technologies being showcased at NIGA, there are countless new games to salivate over, as well. Some of the highlights include The Voice video slot. Inspired by the hit TV show, this slot game features an immersive experience including the participation of judges such as Adam Levine and Ricky Martin.
The Fort Knox Diamond Vault slot, Fort Knox Cleopatra slot, and Harley-Davidson slot, are all set to be showcased. All of these will be featured on the 43”, ultra-HD 4K-enabled CrystalCurve cabinet, which is aimed at giving players impressive and immersive graphics in a slick gaming cabinet.
3D technology continues to be a trending topic at events like this, and so it’s no surprise to see, Jurassic World 3D, and Return of the Sphinx 3D games. All of these titles showcase IGT’s 3D technology.
Meanwhile the Megabucks Double Gold slot game offers a progressive jackpot, meaning a small amount from each player across the whole network of machines will go into a pot to be paid out randomly to lucky players.
The big theme at these trade shows currently appears to be making the player’s gaming experience more impressive graphically, more immersive and engaging. 3D technology has been around for a while, but it is being used to greater and greater effect in the land-based casino cabinet market, as shown by IGT here.
Graphics in slot games have often been a long way behind the advancements of their video game counterparts, but it is clear moves are being made to really enhance visually the slot game experience.
