- Daniel Craig confirms he’ll be returning to play James Bond for the fifth time
- Bond has given some of film’s most legendary casino scenes
Straight from the horse’s mouth, Daniel Craig has confirmed he will be returning to the big screen to play the role of the secret agent in service of Her Majesty, James Bond.

Although there were some rumors that we might get to see a new actor taking on the role of 007, Craig did away with these on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, confirming he’ll be coming back to play Bond for the fifth time.
Memorable casino scenes
Daniel Craig may have been somewhat reluctant to take on the Bond role again (and that’s putting it mildly), but it seems he’s finally come around, and casino fans will be excited about his acting ability around the casino tables.
His appearance in Casino Royale certainly made quite an impression, as Bond, portrayed by Craig, managed to pull out a real poker face and remarkable behavior in the game of super high stakes.
There is no denying that his demeanor, especially during the final hand, was ‘badass’ and really delivered quite a punch-line – although probably not as much as the final scene of the movie where he put his license to kill to good use once again.
In 2012 Skyfall, Craig finds himself inside the impressive Floating Dragon Casino located in Macau. The scenery and the whole casino atmosphere are just overwhelming, with floating lanterns and huge dragon statues, but what impressed the most is the fact Bond gets briefly involved in a game of Sic Bo.
Although he does it casually while having a talk with a beautiful lady, he still does it in style.
Bond and casino through history
Of course, Craig wasn’t the only Bond actor to have a number of impressive casino scenes. In fact, the most famous secret agent and high stakes gambling scenes have been going hand in hand since the very beginnings.
In the very first Bond movie, Dr. No, Sean Connery makes his introduction to the very first Bond girl, Sylvia Trench, while gambling at a chemin-de-fer table.
Ever since that moment, Bond and a casino have been inseparable.
In Diamonds Are Forever, we’re treated to Mr. Bond trying his luck at the craps table. Unsurprisingly, he wins big, taking away $65,000 and, of course, a beautiful lady impressed by his gambling skills.
Bond proves he can be lucky in love and gamble at the same time.
After a brief pause from casino action, Pierce Brosnan brought 007 back to the casino floor in the 1995 legendary movie Goldeneye.
Bond faces Xenia Onatopp, a dangerous and beautiful Russian secret agent, in a game of baccarat. The scene is filled with suspense and sexual tension, and is one of the better casino scenes in the history of Bond movies.
Bond fans will be hoping Craig can rekindle some of that magic on the casino floor for the next instalment in the franchise.
