As one of the more successful film franchises in history, Robocop is naturally alluring to many Playtech slot lovers. Robocop is based on the 1987 film and not the rebooted franchise, and features a very retro appearance.
The slot machine features the likenesses of Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, and Ronny Cox, who all starred in the original motion picture, and is a faithful representation of the series.
Look and feel
Players who loved the original film (and potentially, its sequels) will find the imagery in Playtech’s Robocop slot authentic. Alex Murphy (Robocop), Officer Anne Lewis, and Dick Jones present on the reels, alongside other standardised police symbols.
The wagering menu bar showcases a flashback to the 1980s, with military grey and police blue tones, as well as rectangular big and bold buttons which could easily fit with any land-based fruit machine or slot of the time. The sound effects also fit nicely with the overall theme of the slot.
Robocop offers up a 5-reel, 25-payline gaming structure, but unlike many other Playtech developed slots, the option to adjust those paylines simply isn’t there in this game. Players can adjust the value of their coins, though, with wagers ranging from a floor of just 25p per spin, up to a ceiling which is capped at £250 per spin.
Robocop comes with a top cash prize of 2,500 coins. This is the equivalent of 100x your total bet and can be won when players land 5 wild symbols on any payline in the slot machine game.
Speaking of wild symbols, these icons can substitute for all other symbols in the slot barring scatter symbolss. Those scatters appear as DPD (Detroit Police Department) badges, and they can trigger several bonus features when they appear 3 or more times on the reels in any position.
Such features include a Shootout bonus which offers 10 games with random wilds, a Robot Attack bonus which promises 5 spins with 3×3 wilds on the three central reels, and a Line-Up bonus, which offers 15 free games with 2x multipliers. An OCP Mega Bonus round can also be triggered, and this offers up a 4-tiered instant win game, with cash prizes and multipliers present throughout.
All four bonus rounds can also be randomly triggered in the base game, although these do not include free spins. For instance, the Shootout, Robot Attack, and Line-Up bonuses offer random wilds, big wilds, and multipliers on your next spin, but that is all. The final randomly triggered bonus is a cut-down version of the OCP Mega bonus.
