Few movie themed online slot machine games recreate the love of the film they are based on quite like Microgaming’s Jurassic Park slot. In fact, the slot has proven to be so popular that Microgaming is hard at work creating a sequel, based on the fourth movie in the franchise, Jurassic World, set for a mid 2017 release.
This one takes you back to the series’ beginning, though, when Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth the first time, in 1993.
Look and feel
Everything you loved about the original film is represented rather well in Microgaming’s Jurassic Park slot. Upon the reels of this game are Grant, Ellie, Hammond, and Malcolm. The stars of the film are also represented on the reels of this slot, in the form of Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Dilophosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and those menacing – if unrealistic – Velociraptors.
The jungle backdrop of the game is neat, but the video footage and audio are what hammer the theme home for most players. The slot has been so faithful to the original film, that most players will even overlook the absence of John Williams’ epic score.
Jurassic Park is a 5-reel slot machine game and one which features Microgaming’s customary 243 ways to win format. Players can choose coin sizes which range from 0.01 up to 0.05, and bet up to ten of those coins per spin.
Diddly wagers will set you back just a standard 0.30 coins per spin, whilst maximum stakes stand tall at a not too worrying 15.00 a spin.
Microgaming have gone the extra mile with the wilds in this slot. They can appear stacked and can replace all other symbols save for scatters.
At any point in the game, a T-Rex – yes, they have a T-Rex – may be spotted in the background, and randomly trigger the T-Rex Alert feature. This can provide players with six paid spins, but spins which offer increased chances of landing wilds, with up to 35 extra wilds added to the reels.
Microgaming have brought their hall of spins feature back from extinction in Jurassic Park. Landing three amber icons anywhere on the reels will trigger it. The more times you enter the bonus round, the better the features are going to be. Goodies include a Tyrannosaurus themed bonus which offers 12 spins with wild reels.
Velociraptor bonuses offer 12 spins with multiplier wilds and split wilds. Triceratops bonuses can see you bag 12 spins with running wilds (increasing wild stacks), whilst Brachiosaurus bonuses offer 12 spins with mystery multipliers which range from 2x up to 6x.
Lastly, the Dilophosaurus bonus promises 12 spins with winning wilds (random and held wilds). During each bonus, the relevant dinosaur in that bonus will become stacked on all of the reels of the game, helping to bolster a player’s chances of landing a big win.
