- Yggdrasil’s new iSENSE 2.0 allows games to run at their maximum on any device
- Platform improves load time and provides faster, improved user experience
Casino games developer Yggdrasil has revealed details about its new, innovative iSENSE 2.0 platform. The new development is a revamp of Yggdrasil’s current HTML client framework, and it’s set to be rolled out at online casinos over the next few months.
What is iSENSE 2.0?
The original iSENSE is a platform that allows Yggdrasil games to run on any mobile or desktop device. Using HTML5 technology, the developer ensures that no matter what type of smartphone, tablet or PC players own, they will be able to play their favourite Yggdrasil online slots with smooth gameplay and quick loading times.
As you might have guessed, the new 2.0 version of iSENSE sees Yggdrasil takes things one step further by combining HTML5 canvas elements with CSS3 transitions and particle animations to create a seamless user experience.
Improved player experience
In essence it means a far improved user experience, regardless of what platform players are visiting an online casino on.
“We are always looking at ways to enhance the user experience, and iSENSE 2.0+ has been designed with exactly this in mind,”
Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil Gaming
For example, developers will often remove certain animations or effects when they release desktop games for use on mobile devices, but the new 2.0 iSENSE will ensure that players will experience the games in the same way no matter how they choose to play.
The platform will also shorten the load times to less than 6.5 seconds, giving a faster and smoother playing experience.
Mobile optimization is crucial for pleasing players
In the United Kingdom, 71% of adults own a smartphone, and that number continues to climb. With more people browsing the web from mobile devices, casino games developers recognise the importance of catering to this growing market preferences.
Of course, there are typically differences between desktop and mobile programmes – largely due to technical capabilities. Yggdrasil, however, wants to ensure that mobile players are not missing out on any desktop features when they play slots from their smartphones or tablets, and iSENSE 2.0 is the way to make this happen.
When can you try it?
Some casino operators are currently trialling the new platform. Yggdrasil aims to make iSENSE 2.0 live over the summer, which would be mean that all of the developer’s games would then run on the new platform, including latest releases like Power Plant and Chibeasties 2, along with old favourites like Jokerizer and Robotnik.
Typically there’s been a noticeable difference between games, programmes and other software that run on desktop computers and mobile devices. And while smartphones are rapidly catching up in terms of their capabilities it’s still often the case that a game you’ll play on your mobile will be a little more simplified than that which you can tackle on your computer. But that’s what Yggdrasil is looking to address with iSENSE 2.0. After all, in a world where we are all increasingly relying on our mobile devices to do everything we need – and some things we never though we’d need – why should our experience be inferior? As the popularity of online casinos and mobile casino games continues to grow we expect to see similar developments to iSENSE hitting the market. But, for now, why not give it a try and see what the fuss is about? After all, a quicker load time means more time spent winning – if you’re lucky.
