  • Yggdrasil hopes to shake up live casino market with innovation

Yggdrasil revealed last month that it was seeking to shake up the live casino and electronic table game market by releasing a 3D hybrid of the two.

It has now released a video showing how the concept with come to life.

WATCH: Yggdrasil’s motion-captured live dealers in action.

The idea is to breathe new life in to classic electronic table games, driven by a random number generator (RNG), by giving them a live casino feel.

How it works

The real hook of this is not just the fact that the RNG table games will aim to look better than anything out there – they will also pull in a whole new social gaming element, where players can play with an interact with others at the table at any one time.

Yggdrasil’s Krzysztof Opałka, said: “Our table games provision, starting with Blackjack, is set to break new ground in online casino gaming.

“It won’t just be a single player trying to beat the house, but instead thousands of real players from all over the world, who are all able to join the game simultaneously with the aim of hitting big hands and bigger wins.”

The dealers are motion-captured, meaning they will offer a lifelike experience that is customisable both from the player and online casino point of view.

The footage of the dealer serving up cards suggests that the motion capture works effectively.

The games

The offering from Yggdrasil appears to extend as far as blackjack, roulette and baccarat so far.

The players will also be able to interact with the dealers, which will have facial expressions and lifelike hand movements.

The technology is reminiscent of that of the new defunct PKR poker site, which build a 3D environment in which players could interact with each other as well as play.

With Yggdrasil’s track record in developing innovative slots, they are hoping to shake up the live casino and RNG table game sector with their new hybrid version.

The games offer unlimited themes, as well as various promotional tools like missions, tournaments and cash races, all designed to develop the social experience.

The first game to go live is blackjack.

Vera & John and InterCasino will be the first to take the new technology.
