According to Casino Player magazine, the state’s best overall gaming resort has just been determined based on an annual ranking. The winner of the accolade? Turning Stone Resort Casino.

Top in a number of categories

The result should come as little surprise for it’s the second year in a row that the Verona-based resort has scooped the award.

The decorated casino complex reportedly landed top spot in a whole host of categories, beating off a host of contenders in the Best Hotel, Best Suite, Best Golf Course, Best Table Game Tournament, Best Poker Tournament, Best Blackjack, Best Craps and Best Live Poker categories.

Casino Player’s annual awards have come to be regarded as an authoritative and highly coveted ranking system, one which the resorts are understandably eager to score favourably in. Even a single category win can provide enough bragging rights to aid a casino’s marketing efforts and boost revenue.

It’s been a positive year for Turning Stone, whose list of accolades and recommendations is growing by the day. In addition to awards from several major golf magazines, the resort has scooped three Forbes Travel Guide Four Star Awards, three AAA Four Diamond Awards, two Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The sprawling resort incorporates a spa and fitness centre, wedding venue and almost a dozen dining options including TS Steakhouse and Pino. At the casino, meanwhile, there are slots, keno, a 32-table poker room and VIP services to be enjoyed.

The multi award-winning resort isn’t the only one to be run by the Oneida Nation within New York state; the tribe also runs Yellow Brick Road casino and is currently applying the finishing touches to another premises in Bridgeport, Madison County.

As the number of casinos within the state proliferates, competition for customers is only going to grow. Awards such as those dished out by the likes of Casino Player magazine give the victors the a chance to stand out from the chasing pack.
