Slots with plenty of paylines or ways to win always seem to do well with players. This is no wonder, considering these slots are usually the ones with a big winning potential, even though it takes some luck to land that perfect combo. Today, we’ll look into two such slot and pitch them against each other: Raging Rhino and Prowling Panther.
Graphics & audio 4/5
Graphics aren’t particularly elaborate and the game has a bit of a ‘grainy’ look and feel to it, meaning that it’s not necessarily the most impressive out there on that front.
The audio features upbeat music playing as you spin the reels, with background noises of different animals filling up the rest of the time. This part has been done pretty well, so when both aspects are combined, Raging Rhino is a decent game from the purely audiovisual perspective.
In-game features 4/5
Raging Rhino features the amazing 4,096 ways to win spread across its non-standard 6×4 grid. Even without any features, this alone makes the base game pretty exciting, as every spin can be a big one.
However, there is the free spins bonus game, triggered by three or more diamond scatters in the base game. More spins can be added by landing just two diamonds in the bonus. The main difference between the feature and the base game is the fact all wilds come with multipliers of 2x or 3x. So, while there isn’t a bunch of features to choose from, the one that is there is pretty exciting. Why not try it out for free below.
This WMS slot has an RTP of 95.9%, which isn’t the biggest you’ll find out there but it is pretty decent. That said, Raging Rhino can be a very volatile machine that will realize most of its RTP in occasional big wins, so you’d better have a big bankroll ready if you want to tackle this one.
Winning potential 5/5
As soon as you hear a slot has 4,096 ways to win, it is clear there is a possibility of a huge win. Add to this the fact there are multiplier wilds in the bonus feature, and there is no doubt that Raging Rhino can pay beyond your wildest dreams – if you get lucky, that is.
Overall value 4/5
We’d say that Raging Rhino isn’t the slot for the faint of heart. Quite volatile and a bit repetitive, this game is a good choice for those players who like pursuing big wins and don’t mind a bit (or a bit more) volatility in the process.
Graphics & audio
IGT’s Prowling Panther might be an unknown to most players, due to the fact IGT machines seem quite restricted and players from many countries can’t access them. This isn’t too much of a surprise, given that IGT focuses primarily on land based casinos.
Graphics in Prowling Panther aren’t spectacular but they’re not bad, either. Reels are set on a backdrop of a jungle and populated with various wild animals, such as black panthers, toucans, and parrots. Of course, there are also unavoidable playing card symbols.
Background music is quite edgy and exciting and it goes well with the type of game that will take you on a wildlife adventure filled with dangers and big wins for the lucky ones.
In-game features 3.5/5
IGT’s Prowling Panther features 720 ways to win on a rather non-standard setup, with the outmost reels having two rows, two middle reels featuring four, and the middle reel featuring five rows.
The free spins feature is triggered by landing five scatter panther symbols, with at least one being on each of the reels. Stacked wilds with multipliers will help boost your winnings during the round, although all of these features are available during the base game as well. So, all in all, the feature doesn’t seem to add that much to the experience or your chances to win.
The Prowling Panther slot has a fairly low RTP of 94.09%, which isn’t that surprising if you consider that IGT’s games are built primarily for land-based casinos, especially the older slots. That said, this percentage is quite low for today’s online gambling standards.
Winning potential 4/5
Not unlike Raging Rhino, Prowling Panther can also pay quite handsomely. Landing a few reels filled with those 2x wilds will quickly turn into a massive win, although it can’t pay quite as much as Rhino.
Overall value 3.5/5
Prowling Panther can be fun to play, but with its low RTP and somewhat high volatility, there isn’t too much incentive to pick this game over another title with a similar theme and winning potential. Unless, of course, this is one of the games you enjoyed playing at land-based casinos and you want to relive the experience.
Our verdict & where to play
In this head to head, Raging Rhino takes a clear win for several reasons. The slot features a better RTP, somewhat bigger winning potential, and there is also the fact it is much easier to find. WMS slots are available at places such as Unibet Casino, Casumo, and Mr Green Casino, to mention just a few.
If you’d like to give Prowling Panther a try, you can check out Casumo, although there is no guarantee you’ll be able to play it even if it is available.
