- PokerStars adds the first Microgaming titles to its casino game library
- PokerStars Casino players now have access to the largest online progressive jackpot network via Mega Moolah
Players at PokerStars Casino now have access to a whole new batch of games thanks to a deal with giant slots developer Microgaming.
Games that are now live on the site include the progressive jackpot slot Mega Moolah, which has paid out millions to players in recent years.
This step is further proof that PokerStars, the largest online poker operator in the world, is fully intent on growing its online casino arm into one of the market’s main competitors.
Industry figures show that the internet poker market is currently fairly flat in terms of growth.
The deal long coming
Amaya, the company behind the PokerStars brand, had announced this partnership a while ago. Back in February, it was revealed that Microgaming games would become a part of PokerStars Casino portfolio in the near future, using its Quickfire platfrom.
The casino already offers many titles, from Amaya proprietary games to titles by the likes of NetEnt, Playtech, Red Tiger Gaming, and more. With the addition of Microgaming, PokerStars Casino now covers almost all the big suppliers in the market.
The only thing left now is adding more titles to the game library, a strategy it appears to be energetically pursuing, adding Red Tiger Gaming’s titles to its roster in May, for example.
More choice for the players
With Quickspin titles added to the mix, PokerStars Casino players will now have access to some of the biggest progressive jackpots around, most notably Mega Moolah, which is easily one of the most popular titles from this group thanks to its potential to generate life-changing wins.
PokerStars has also announced its intention to further expand with even more Quickfire (Microgaming) titles added to the offer.
More choice. What’s not to like?
PokerStars is clearly pursuing a strategy of volume – this is not the only big ticket game developer signed up to the site in recent months.
Microgaming has some of the most recognisable titles in online casinos, so players who only have a PokerStars account will have been missing out until now.
On Microgaming’s part, this partnership makes perfect sense. PokerStars is a large and well-established brand. It is only natural for a leading game provider such as Microgaming to want to make its games available via the PokerStars Casino brand, and they made it clear the company has every intention to explore this partnership further in the upcoming period.
