- Trump’s approval rating continues to sink due to alleged campaign ties with Russia
- Latest odds from Paddy Power have the US President to be impeached in 2017 at 2/1
It appears that Donald Trump’s popularity has taken another hit amid revelations about his son allegedly meeting with a Russian lawyer to discuss potentially damaging info about Hillary Clinton.
More bad news for Trump was seen in the last 24 hours as senators voted against a “skinny repeal” bill that would have rolled back health provisions under Obamacare, with critics warning that the measure would have led to the additional deaths of tens of thousands of people.
When Donald Trump officially took office in January of this year, the now 71-year-old received the worst approval rating of any former US President.
Recent approval ratings have only worsened Trump’s position, largely due to allegations against the media, alleged and suspected undeclared connections with Russia and a failure to push through his healthcare reform.
A recent Gallup poll showed that just 40% of Americans were happy with the way that Trump has handled his first one hundred days in charge whilst 55% disapproved completely.
The news is a blow to Trump as historical data shows that in most cases, a US president takes a lot longer to receive a majority disapproval.
Bill Clinton managed to last a full 573 days before he reached majority disapproval which is a record over the last five presidents, however, Trump managed to last just eight days before receiving his majority disapproval rating.
