Paddy Power odds on what the future holds for Roger Federer after 19th Wimbledon title

Roger Federer made history on Sunday, winning Wimbledon for a record 8th time by beating Marin Čilić in straight sets.

The 35-year-old’s latest grand slam win brings him to a total of 19, the fourth most of any tennis player and the most of any male tennis player.

Despite rumours that he may retire, Federer’s relatively straightforward win against Čilić shows he is still at the very top of his game.

Paddy Power Casino have provided Casinopedia with a series of Rodger Federer specials as punters try to make money from guessing the 35-year-old next move.

When will the curtain call on Federer’s career?

Odds on him to retire this year are very slim at just 5/4, with many still believing that he will call time on his tennis career whilst he is still at the very top.

The odds on Federer to retire next year are also slim at 10/11, whilst 2019’s odds are 11/8 and 2020 at 9/4. The online casino are also taking bets on the Swiss player to retire later than 2020 at odds of 3/1.

Clearly the tennis star is not expected to carry on playing for much longer given his age, although odds are being offered on Federer to win more grand slam titles before he does choose to end his illustrious career.

Despite already winning it an amazing 8 times, the Irish bookmaker had Federer to win Wimbledon again for a remarkable 9th time are 7/4.

Currently on 19 grand slam titles, odds on him to win one more and take his total 20 are 6/4, whilst odds on him to take that number up to 21 are 10/3.

Although largely expected to retire soon, odds are still being offered on Federer to win three more grand slams and a total of 22 at 7/1.

What has Federer got left in the tank?

Many think he will retire, others believe he will go on to win more.

Odds on him to win no more grand slams are a lot smaller at a mere 1/3, whilst those expecting him to end his career in style can place a bet on Federer to win more than three grand slams at 11/1.

Despite his impressive Wimbledon win, the range of bets on offer show it is still very unclear as to what Federer will opt to do next.

Only time will tell what this tennis legend’s next move will be but whatever happens, his career has sealed his place among the all time greats. Sport is crying out for gentlemen, so in one respect the longer Rodger Federer grace’s elite sport with his presence the better, but for the bookmakers he is a difficult one to price; age isn’t on his side but his class seems timeless.
