Macau gaming technology company Laxino Systems Ltd has announced an innovative cloud-based platform, which has the potential to transform the slots industry.

Macau Casinos
Macau Casino’s could be set to get new cloud-based slot games.

The product, known as GameSource, is a cloud-based platform that will give land-based casinos access to wide array of electronic games, and will also allow independent third-party developers to make their titles available to casino operators.

According to GGR Asia, the platform was announced at the MGS Entertainment Show 2017, held at the Venetian Macao casino in the Cotai district. The Chief Executive of Laxino, Lam Iao, said that it would bring together different sectors of the gaming industry:

“We are providing a platform bridging independent developers and other creative content providers with the casino operators.”Lam Iao

Market share

GameSource works on generic devices that offer touch screen functionality, so there is no need for casinos to spend money on slot machine cabinets.

Casino operators can choose which of the games from the GameSource library that they wish to make available for their customers. The platform uses cashless technology. Players use a card to play the games, which can be topped up with money in a variety of ways.

According to Iao, the platform was created with the Macau market in mind, and was developed with the help of game testing laboratory BMM Testlabs.

Laxino has already signed up with MGM China Holdings Ltd to install the platform at the MGM Macau casino resort, which will become the first Macau property to use the product when it is operational in a few months time.

Iao also says that the Laxino has been talking to other Macau casino operators and outlined ambitious plans for the expansion of the platform:

“We will try to capture a market share of about 10 percent to 20 percent of the Macau market in terms of terminal number over the next three years.”Lam Iao
