- G2E showcase for company’s TRUE 4D titles
- Casino game includes progressive community jackpot
The annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is underway in Las Vegas, with top tech companies from the casino industry taking center stage to showcase this year’s gaming innovations.
For players, it’s a chance to see what they might be getting their hands on in the coming months and years.
One of the stand-out exhibitors for 2017 is International Game Technology, better known as IGT, who have three ‘4D’ games on display among their innovations.
Making its international debut is Wheel of Fortune 4D, a new and immersive twist on the classic game which is almost synonymous with casinos in Vegas and beyond.
TRUE 4D launches with three new games
IGT is leading the way in 3D game design, having created an innovative games cabinet known as the CrystalCurve. The 50-inch curved Ultra HD screen creates a realistic and immersive three-dimensional illusion, without the need for 3D glasses.
As well as supporting the three new 4D titles, this CrystalCurve machine will offer a range of classic IGT titles – including Golden Goddess and Fortune Gong.
At the G2E event in Las Vegas this week, IGT has revealed the three titles which make up its ‘Red Hot Cantina’ – the TRUE 4D titles that include the brand’s progressive jackpot technology.
They are Ghostbusters 4D, the SPHINX 4D collection, and the Wheel of Fortune 4D slot game.
Classic slot game gets a modern twist
IGT has been producing Wheel of Fortune slots for many years, and over 240 titles make up one of the brand’s most popular slot offerings. It is based on the classic game show where players compete to spin a wheel and pick up cash prizes, while completing word puzzles as they go.
For Wheel of Fortune 4D, the developer has worked in a multiplayer feature, where one player triggering a bonus sparks the Wheel of Fortune wheel for all players. During these bonuses, all players are eligible for a slice of the reward – including when the linked progressive jackpot drops. The game supports up to six machines in a single bank.
IGT’s CrystalCurve TRUE 4D cabinet has been designed to support Wheel of Fortune 4D, along with the hotly anticipated SPHINX 4D which also received its world debut at G2E this week.
Movie franchise Ghostbusters has also been given a 4D makeover as a slot game for the cabinet, and developers say the machine will support older slot titles once they have been given a graphics upgrade.
While IGT is a big name in land-based casinos, it also lends its name to many online casinos too.
