Orlandoweekly.com has reported that the tower will be part of Seminole Hard Rock’s $1.5 billion expansion plan for their Hollywood resort, and could open in 2019.

Hard Rock Hollywood is a key part of the international Hard Rock casino network and under the planned expansion, it will almost double in size.

The new facility is set to include 3,267 slots, 178 table games and 18,000 square-feet dedicated to poker.

It will also offer a range of retail outlets, restaurants and a renovated 7,000-seater live venue.

According to reports, the tower itself will feature nearly 640 luxury hotel suites, a huge 41,000 square-foot spa and a ten acre pool complex, along with restaurants and a business center.

Landmark destination

The Seminole tribe of Florida have been at the forefront of the Indian Gaming movement in the US, since they opened the original high-stakes casino in 1979.

They purchased Hard Rock International in March 2007, which was the first such acquisition by an Indian tribe, and the brand has continued to grow globally, becoming well known for its entertainment and dining venues, as well as its collection of music memorabilia, reputed to be the world’s largest. Under the Hard Rock name, the tribe also control licensing agreements for a range of venues, including restaurants and hotels.

The Seminole Tribe owns two Hard Rock Hotel Casinos, as well as four other casinos, in Coconut Creek, Immokalee and the Brighton Reservation. In a statement regarding the development, the Chairman of the Seminole Tribe, Marcellus Osceola Jr. said that he hoped the expanded resort would become a global attraction.

He said: “Our ancestors and elders welcomed curious tourists to our Florida reservations, and today’s members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida will soon welcome visitors from all over the world to what will become a landmark destination.”
