This time around, it was a German player going under the alias ‘Check^On123’ who turned his $100 Spin & Go poker entry into $1 million prize.

Still making millionaires

Spin & Go tournaments are lottery-style sit-and-gos featuring three players paying their buy-in to compete for a random prize that can go anywhere from 2x to 10,000x the buy-in. Buy-ins range from just $0.25 for those looking to just have some fun, to $100 for serious players who are after big money.

These $100 events are a part of the exclusive PokerStars Makes Millionaires promotions, and every so often, a tournament goes off with the highest possible jackpot of $1,000,000. There is no way of telling when this will happen exactly, which makes these tournaments all that more exciting for players. Every single sit & go could turn into a life-changing situation.

Everybody’s a winner

Usually, a Spin & Go will only award the winner with the jackpot prize, while the other two players will go home empty-handed. However, PokerStars has come up with a different setup for their $1 million events, because it would be too big of a blow for most people to lose a heads up match for a seven-figure amount and be left with nothing. So, instead, as soon as the million jackpot is triggered, all three players are guaranteed to take home at least $100,000. The difference between finishing first and second is still huge, but at least a hundred grand is a nice consolation prize.

In the most recent million-maker Spin & Go, the two players who had to be satisfied with this consolation prize were ‘woroms444’ and ‘Dzeferin0’. The German player actually started the heads up match with ‘Dzeferin0’ behind in chips but managed to claw his way back and win the massive amount.

With another millionaire being created on PokerStars, the PokerStars Makes Millionaires promotion continues as scheduled. According to the company’s Director of Poker Marketing, they are well on the way to make ten millionaires before June 4, when the promo will end.

It is interesting to note that PokerStars has made sixteen Spin & Go millionaires since this format was first launched back in January of 2015.
