- First title will launch in Fall 2018, developers have revealed
- Two games will cover different eras of singer’s career
There will be two slot games featuring Madonna, each covering a different part of the singer’s 34-year career, with the 1980s-era game expected to launch first.
A 1990s slot is set to follow, the developer said.
Music-themed slot games prove a hit with players
The new Madonna slot games will be showcased at next month’s GE2 Las Vegas event, and the games will be available in US casinos from Fall 2018, the developer has confirmed.
When it launches, it will join a host of other popular titles based around musical legends – from Guns ’N’ Roses to Elvis Presley. The Queen of Pop will lend her name to a slot game for the first time, in a game that pays testament to her impressive 35 year career.
From her first hit Holiday in 1983 to 2012’s Gimme All Your Luvin’, Madonna is no stranger to the pop charts and has had hits in every decade since the 1980s. With these two new titles, Aristocrat hopes to appeal to fans of Madonna’s very different incarnations – each will cover a different era in the superstar’s life.
1980s Madonna versus 1990s Madonna
Aristocrat has confirmed that there will be two Madonna titles, rather than one – for the happy-go-lucky 1980s songbird and the rather darker and more exploratory 1990s era.
Each will feature hit songs from the decade – so classics like Material Girl, Vogue and Like A Prayer may very well feature on the soundtrack.
Games are likely to feature iconic Madonna imagery, from her Catholic-Gothic inspired 1990s personality or the pink and fluffy 1980s style, and may well include characters and lyrics from her songs in the gameplay itself.
More details on how the game will look and feel are expected to be revealed at next month’s GE2 conference.
Aristocrat no stranger to fan franchise slots
While the new Madonna games are a step in a different direction for Sydney-based developers Aristocrat, the company is experienced in taking a beloved fan favorite to the reels and making a success of it.
The brand operates one of the only franchised Game of Thrones slots – possibly the world’s most popular TV series right now. The team has also worked on Walking Dead and X-Files.
They also developed a title for another global songstress, Mariah Carey.
The title was revealed at last year’s gaming expo and launched earlier this year, and it has been a success so far. Carey is a Vegas legend, and her showgirl performances are cut into features and bonuses.
If the game does find its way to online casinos eventually then you’ll need to play at one that offers Aristocrat’s range of online casino games, such as Guts Casino.
