- Paddy Power’s cheeky marketing team at it again with groan challenge
- Which grunt comes from a tennis player, and which from an X-rated film?
In addition to being a bookmaker, Paddy Power is best known for having one of the cheekiest marketing departments in the industry.
If there’s an attention-grabbing stunt been performed in the name of betting, nine times out of ten Paddy Power are the culprits. In fact they’ll probably even offer odds on that being the case. With the Wimbledon tennis championships in full swing, Paddy Power have upped their game, pulling yet another naughty stunt.
Can you identify a groan or grunt?
Groan, Set & Match is the name of the game and it’s one that calls upon all your powers of deduction if you’re to score a perfect ten in the test. Your task? To decide which of the audio snippets is a tennis player grunting and which is an adult entertainment star, um, grunting.
It’s long accepted that listening to tennis sounds uncannily like other pursuits that involve two adults and a whole lot of effort. Now Paddy Power have all but confirmed it with their Groan, Set and Match game.
Paddy Power, to add ‘integrity’ have even cited which grunt belongs to which player, but have changed the names of the films for ‘amusement purposes’ to expect the likes of ‘Pulp Friction’ and more.
Bonus points to anyone who can pinpoint the source of either before the answer is revealed. In the interests of egalitarianism, the bookmaker has included both male and female tennis players and have followed suit with adult entertainers.
There’s no telling what Paddy Power will get up to next, but it certainly won’t be dull. Whether scoring a perfect ten from playing Groan, Set & Match is something to feel proud of or ashamed of is debatable. Have a go for yourself and then reevaluate your life choices.
