Casino celebrates with residents after big win

The Ville is Townsville’s only land-based casino, and it welcomes any opportunity to get its name on the map. The jackpot was won by a young local woman, and the casino operator told the Townsville Herald that there would be a party theme at the venue all day on Friday. Residents are invited to celebrate with cocktails.

“We want to celebrate this win as that’s what we are all about, we have the biggest jackpots in town and love to see them going to locals,”

How to play Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud is a variant of standard poker in which the player takes on the dealer, rather than playing against a table of opponents. The aim is to have a better hand than the dealer, based on the five cards in their hand and knowledge of one of the dealer’s five cards.

Players can bet or fold, and hands are then ranked to determine a winner. Many games of Caribbean stud include a side bet for a jackpot prize. Players make a separate wager, and drawing a certain hand (usually a flush or royal flush) will award the jackpot.

9-year jackpot finally beaten

The The Ville Resort-Casino is one of four casinos based in Queensland. Located in coastal city Townsville, the luxury casino resort hotel features ocean views, live entertainment, four bars and of course, the casino itself. The casino offers around 370 gaming machines along with 20 table games, along with a VIP / High Roller room and a Keno lounge.

Many of the electronic games and some of the table games at the Ville Resort-Casino feature progressive jackpots, and the Caribbean Stud jackpot won by the player on Thursday was one of these prizes. According to the Townsville Bulletin, the jackpot was last won in August 2008.

As well as setting a record of nine years for a jackpot duration at the premises, the player’s impressive jackpot is the largest Caribbean poker prize to be won at the venue.
